The band has male and female vocalists plus authentic three-piece horn section – trumpet, sax, trombone, keys, percussion, rhythm and bass guitars. Songs from Otis Redding, Aretha Franklin, Sam and Dave, Dusty Springfield, Stevie Wonder, Eli ‘Paperboy’ Reed, Tina Turner, Redbone, The Commitments, Ray Charles and the Blues Brothers reflect a few of their influences. Sponsored by the Main Street Business Improvement Association, Edgemar, and O’Brien’s Pub and Restaurant, the 10th Annual Summer SOULstice celebration features a sidewalk sale (running both Saturday June 26 and Sunday June 27 from 11 a.m to 7 p.m.) with local retail businesses showcasing sale items on the sidewalk and offering specials and possibly free snack items. Although Sunday, June 27 is almost a week after the real Summer Solstice (first day of summer), here in Santa Monica the Summer SOULstice is celebrated at the end of June, with a daylong festival on Main Street.
